Well, since this is apparently the place to post the universe; here is the Solar System and alien species I have created for my campaign. They're still in note form, so if you want clarification feel free to ask.
Alali System
Red Dwarf Star Halarn (planet1)- mercury sized, quite close to the sun, uninhabitable due to heat, no moons Alon-leion (planet2)- Slightly larger than earth, dense population, government control -moon1 (dram) Military/industrial facilities, sparse population -moon2 (sram) never colonised Alon-Druun (planet3)- Venus size, population dense, but forced to live indoors due to hostile climate, rebel control -moon1 (framan) never colonised Trabar (planet4) - saturn sized gas giant -5 small moons, never colonised, unimportant Glader (planet5)-neptune sized, covered in ocean -2 unimportant moons - 1 moon (graman) used to hold a small facility, but it was abandoned some time ago
Alon Race
-1.4M average height -4 tentacle-style 'arms', with suction capacity on the ends, about 40CM long -Generally a light brown colour, although shades vary. skin colour says nothing about the individual -2 legs, which are roughly proportional to human ones -no real head, with their eyes being at the top of their body, their ear/nose/sensorywhatevers being flat against the sides of their upper body, and their mouth roughly between their 'arms' -Herbivores -Heavily reliant on robots due to slow reproduction rate, but the robots are extremely advanced, and the envy of most other speices. as a side affect, they have very powerful computing systems -Rule Alali system, and have colonised a second planet and moon there
Alon government prefers to remain isolated from other species, whilst the rebels are keen to benefit from such things as interstellar trade. Any Alon seen outside of Alali is likely to be rebel aligned. Alon fleets tend to be made up of small ships (corvettes and a few frigates) which are employed in large numbers.

C'mon guys, I don't want to have to produce all the alien races myself! Zaarquan Race-Around 2 meters tall, with a long tail -Wingspan between 5-7 meters -Roughly triangluar head, with a large mouth, long thin eyes, and other sensory apparatus gathered just above the mouth at the 'point' -2 lower limbs act as both arms and legs -omnivorous -tend towards purple, but often apply redish colourings to their upper bodies -Nomadic speicies, who's homeworld is lost to history -Most are traders, but some few become pirates or mercenaries DT

I can dig around the rotting husk of Imperium Universalis for original races. I know I got pretty enthusiastic about fleshing out "my" NPCs.

Chloriphon system
Red giant, anomalous deep red color Chloriphon (Planet1) - Mars-sized, earth-like climate, far from sun, technically colonized by SF -moon1(Sichon) Uncolonized, always on dark side of planet -moon2 (Hinon) Uncolonized, orbit not fully plotted -starbase1(Mylitos) SF, minimal armament and armor, currently used by refugees from planet surface. Pluton (Planet2) -perfect 10km sphere, invulnerable, technically a moon of the star, solid, clearly engineered, no atmosphere, too cold to colonize

Vesanus system
Star unclassified, 6 planets in no particular order: Vesanus: Cold, high winds. Most income comes from mining, and tourism based on pilgrimage. Wendis: Ocean Covered Planet. Most income comes from fishing, and harvesting kelp. Furiesa: Extremely hot, orbits close to the sun. Cities are located underground, with shields to stop the heat. Most income comes from Solar Power. Sisle: Cold, high winds. Heavy populated, and industrialized. Buron: Gas Giant. Cities are built so they float in the atmosphere, collecting needed gasses. Cecon: Ditto.
Vesanus was a small, iceball of a planet on the outskirts of known space. The animals and plants that evolved there are known to withstand the harsh cold, and the high winds. The dominant species is the sapient Kimidi, beings resembling Earth apes but with much more fur and a propensity to burrow underground.
Demonym: Kimida (single) Kimidi (plural) Goverment: Theocracy
The religion of Vesanus is called Kurdoism, centered around the beings called the Elder Gods. The Elder Gods are believed to have created the entire universe, and chosen the Kimidi as their people. To make sure they keep an eye on Vesanus, the people perform kimidi sacrifices, which involves cutting out their heart, and then burning it alongside the body. The Council of Kurdo work to make sure the gods get their proper sacrifices, and judge if population needs more.
The High Leader is the "monarch" of the Kimidi race. He is elected from the Council of Kurdo and serves for life. To be nominated for High Leader, an individual must have been on the Council for 10 years, and proven himself an able leader.

Setting of the first campaign of the Inglorious Basterds- Alexandria SystemStar type: much like the sun Planets: 5- Alpha 1 | Mercury-like, twin of Alpha-2 | No Sattelites | Alpha-2 | Mercury-Like, twin of Alpha-1 | No Sattelites | Argusta | Earth-like, able to sustain various life | 2 Sattelites- Bravo-1 (Military outpost, main base), Bravo-2 (Natural moon, secondary radar base) | Sendelha (nicknamed New Hell) | Mars-like in appearence, but Earth-like atmosphere that can sustain life, including the Alarst race | 3 sattelites- Tango-1 (Alarst-made military outpost), Tango-2 (Natural moon, Alarst outpost), Tango-3 (Moon w/ atmosphere, Alarst secondary spaceship dock) | Chost | Giant planet with oxygen-rich atmosphere, and many mineral resources. | Multiple satellites, many classifies as asteroids and varous chunks of rock. Most important is Titan X1, which is a mini-sized version of Chost. |
AlarstAlien race -Average height of 2.1 meters -Homeworld unknown, but from the structures discovered on Chost and Sendhela, definitely not a nomadic race. -Omnivores, with some of their meals similar to those of humans, while some are completely different -War-favoring species, with many advancements in weaponry -Economy based on mining natural resources, with certain metals used as a form of currency -Have the outline and basic features of humans (head, legs, torso, reproductive system), but their bodies are encased in a (usually black or blue) exoskeleton, which doubles as armor from certain types of attacks.
